Good morning, grandchildren!

Today’s Scripture is

"He is my servant, the one I chose."
Isaiah 42:1 (ICB)

This name of God is very important for His people to understand. The story I’m about to tell you is recorded four times in the Bible—by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

When Jesus walked on the earth, the Israelites celebrated many holidays to remember how good God had been to them. One of these celebrations was Passover, which reminded them how God protected His people in Egypt when death “passed over” their homes.

During this Passover, Jesus did something very surprising—He washed His disciples’ feet.

Back then, servants usually did this job because everyone wore sandals, and their feet were dusty and dirty. It was a yucky, lowly job. The disciples were confused when Jesus did it.

Jesus explained:
"You have called me Lord and Teacher—and that is true. If I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet like a servant, then you must serve one another. When I washed your feet, I gave you an example. Put others’ needs ahead of your own."

Jesus wants us to serve others, just like He served His disciples. Serving can be small things like helping a friend, sharing, or listening carefully to someone who needs encouragement.

Let’s Pray Together

Lord, we want to do what You said and did. Help us to serve others like You,
putting their needs ahead of our own. Show us ways to be kind, helpful,
and loving every day. We love You! Amen

Today’s Question:

What is one way you can serve someone today, just like Jesus served His disciples? 💛👣
