Good morning, grandchildren!

Today’s Scripture is:
"He first found his own brother Simon and said to him,
‘We have found the Messiah."

John 1:41

Many times, we hear the name Christ with Jesus’ name, almost like it is His last name. But Christ actually tells us who Jesus is. It means the Anointed One—God chose Him and sent Him to the world to save us from our sins. Christ is another name for Messiah, the Savior of the world.

God’s people, the Israelites, had been told by prophets in the Old Testament that God would one day send a Savior to rescue them from separation from Him.

When Jesus came, people had different reactions. Some believed He was the long-awaited Savior, the Messiah, but others, especially the religious leaders, did not. They felt threatened because Jesus taught the truth and challenged their ways. Many of them cared only about power and rules, not about people.

Everyday people, on the other hand, had hard lives under the Roman government. They needed hope, help, and salvation. That’s why it was easier for them to believe that Jesus was their Savior, Christ, and Messiah.

When Jesus entered Jerusalem for a holiday, the people celebrated Him. They threw a parade, waving palm branches and shouting praises, acknowledging that Jesus was the Messiah they had been waiting for. He came to save, guide, and bring hope to the world.

Let’s Pray Together

Thank You, God, for sending Jesus, Your Son, to be our Savior and Christ.
Thank You for making things right and giving us hope.
Help us to follow Him every day. We love You! Amen.

Today’s Question:

Why do you think Jesus came as the Messiah? How can you show that you trust Him as your Savior today? 🌿💛
