Good morning, grandchildren!
I wish I were with you right now so I could give you a
great big hug and tell you how much I love you!
Today’s Scripture is:
John 11:25
"Jesus said, 'I am the resurrection and the life.'"
Today’s story is about Jesus’ friend Lazarus, from the book of John. Lazarus became very sick, and his sisters, Mary and Martha, asked Jesus to come and heal him.
But Jesus didn’t go right away. Lazarus died and was buried in a tomb before Jesus arrived. When Jesus finally came, He told the people to open the tomb, then He called out in a loud voice:
"Lazarus, come out!"
And Lazarus came back to life! He walked out of the tomb, alive again!
Jesus did this miracle to show everyone that He is God’s Son and has power over death. Just like He brought Lazarus back to life, Jesus can give spiritual life to people who believe in Him.
When we believe in Jesus as our Savior, He gives us eternal life—a new life that lasts forever in heaven with God. Even though our bodies may die, our souls and spirits can live with Him forever.
That’s why Jesus calls Himself the Resurrection and the Life. He gives life to everyone who trusts Him.
Let’s Pray Together
Thank You, Jesus, for being our Resurrection and Life. Thank You for giving us new life that lasts forever. Help us to trust You and follow You so we can live with You in heaven one day. Amen.
