Rivers
Adapted from the book
How Great is Our God
by Louie Giglio
Good morning!
Joke of the Day:
Why did the river break up with the pond?
Because it needed a little more current relationship!
Today’s Scripture is:
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord.
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river.”
Jeremiah 17:7–8 (NKJV)
Have you ever thought about how amazing rivers are? We swim in them, boat on them, drink
from them, and even use them to make electricity! There are thousands upon thousands of rivers
all over the world—big ones, small ones, fast ones, and slow ones.
Rivers are super important because they bring life wherever they go. Long ago, people built
cities near rivers because they needed water to live. Even in the Garden of Eden, God made a
river to water the land (Genesis 2:10). That shows us how important rivers have always been!
The Bible says that when we trust in God, we are like a tree planted by a river. That tree has
strong roots and always has the water it needs to grow. It doesn’t dry up—it stays strong and
healthy.
Just like rivers give life to the land, God gives life to us. When we trust Him, His peace flows
through us like a river. And His peace isn’t just a calm, cozy feeling—it’s powerful!
God’s peace gives you:
Strength when you feel tired
Courage to do what’s right
Confidence that God is always with you
No matter what you face today, God’s peace can flow through your heart and help you keep
going.
Let’s Pray Together
Father God, please let Your peace, strength, courage, and love flow through our lives just like
water flows through a river. Help us trust You more each day. We love You. In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
