Home
Adapted from the book
How Great is Our God
by Louie Giglio
Good morning!
Today’s Scripture is:
“Dear friends,
you are like visitors and strangers in this world.”
1 Peter 2:11 (ICB)
Let’s talk about home.
Animals—even tiny ones—build amazing places to live!
Honeybees
Honeybees like to live together in one big community. They work as a team to build their home out of wax—and get this: the wax is made inside their bodies! The bees chew it and shape it into honeycomb, like little apartment buildings where they live.
Cathedral Termites (Australia)
These termites also live in huge communities. They use clay and sand to build giant towers called termite mounds. Some can grow up to 26 feet high—that might be taller than your house!
Leaf-Rolling Grasshopper
This insect likes living alone. It sleeps inside a rolled-up leaf that it ties shut with a silky thread—like a tiny sleeping bag.
Chewed-up wax. Sand and clay skyscrapers. Rolled-up leaves.
God gave animals some super creative homes!
Where Does Your Heart Call Home?
So where do you call home?
Not just the house or apartment you live in… but where does your heart feel like it belongs?
Sometimes you might feel like you don’t fit in here on Earth.
Maybe things seem unfair, mean, or sad.
And you might think, “This world doesn’t feel right.”
That’s okay.
God says we are visitors here. We don’t belong to the sin and evil in this world. When you see wrong things and they make your heart feel uncomfortable, that’s a sign you’re one of God’s kids. Because your true home is heaven.
In heaven there will be:
no sin
no pain
no bullying
no sadness
no sickness
no goodbyes
And God already has a place ready for you there.
Lollipop Challenge
Today, remember:
Earth is where we live for now… but heaven is our forever home.
So while we’re here, let’s help this world look a little more like heaven by:
being kind
telling the truth
helping someone who feels left out
forgiving
sharing
praying for others
Every loving thing you do is like putting a little piece of heaven on Earth.
Let’s Pray Together
Father God, thank You for preparing a heavenly home for us. Help us make this world a better place—one that looks a little more like heaven. We love You. Amen.
