Good morning, grandchildren!

I wish I were with you right now so I could give you a
great big hug and tell you how much I love you!

Today’s Scripture is:

“God the Holy One says, ‘Can you compare me to anyone?’”
—Isaiah 40:25 (ICB)

Today we’re talking about: Holy One: Ka-dosh (kah-DOESH). Today we’re going to talk about God’s nature. He is holy and perfect in ALL of His ways.

A quick picture to help: People are NOT perfect. We do things we shouldn’t. The Bible calls that sin. We also make mistakes by accident. We are not perfect or holy—but God is!

To help us understand His ways, God gave Moses a list of rules to teach the people how to live. We call these the 10 Commandments. Here’s the list of what God says we are to do (rewritten for kids):

  1. Put God first

  2. No fake gods

  3. Respect God’s name

  4. Respect God’s day of rest

  5. Respect your parents

  6. Do not kill people

  7. Respect marriage

  8. Do not steal

  9. Do not lie

  10. Do not be jealous

These rules are given because God is all-wise and knows what is best for us.

The best part: You can practice God’s holiness in small ways every day! Try telling the truth even when it’s hard, sharing with a friend, or showing respect to your parents. Every time you make a choice to do what is right, you are following God’s perfect ways.

Let’s Pray Together

Father God,

Thank You for Your Holiness. Thank You for the rules and commandments to guide us and help us obey You. Please help us follow Your ways today.

We love You, God. Amen.

Today’s Question:

Which one of God’s rules is the hardest for you to follow, and how can you ask God to help you obey it today?
