Good morning, grandchildren!
I wish I were with you right now so I could give you a
great big hug and tell you how much I love you!
Today’s Scripture is:
“So Abraham called the name of that place ‘The Lord Will Provide.’”
—Genesis 22:14
Today we’re talking about: The Lord Will Provide: Jehovah Jireh. Our story today tells us about how God provides for His people.
A quick picture to help: Later in the Bible, Moses would lead God’s people out of slavery in Egypt, and along the way, they needed food. Instead of asking God to help, the people complained to Moses that they were hungry. Had they really forgotten how God had already provided for them as they escaped Egypt?
But God loved them, and He provided!
At night, quail flew into their camp so they could catch it and eat.
In the morning, white flakes were all over the ground, which they used to make bread and cereal to give them the nourishment they needed.
God provided for their needs!
The best part: God still provides for our needs today. (Remember: needs and wants are not the same.) He often provides through our parents, and as we grow, He provides work or jobs so we can care for ourselves and our families.
Let’s Pray Together
Dear God,
You provided for Moses and Your people in the Old Testament times, and we can trust that You will also provide for all our needs today.
We love You. Amen.
