Good morning, grandchildren!
I wish I were with you right now so I could give you a
great big hug and tell you how much I love you!
Today’s Scripture is:
“The Lord is my strength. I trust Him, and He helps me.”
—Psalm 28:7
Today we’re talking about: The Lord Is My Strength — Jehovah Uzzi (jeh-HO-vuh oo-ZEE). Say this with me: “The Lord is MY strength.” Let’s say it again: “The Lord is MY strength.”
A quick picture to help: Do you remember the story of David, the young shepherd boy, and Goliath, the giant enemy of God’s people? David was smaller and weaker than Goliath, but David was not afraid. He knew something very important—God would be his strength.
David trusted God instead of his own muscles or weapons. When David stepped forward in faith, God gave him the strength and power he needed—and God helped him defeat the giant!
The best part: Sometimes God asks us to do hard things too. We might need courage to tell the truth, stand up for someone, obey our parents, or be kind when it’s not easy. When we feel weak, we can remember that we don’t have to do those things by ourselves.
When we trust God and ask for His help, Jehovah Uzzi gives us strength on the inside—strength to do what is right and strength to obey Him.
Let’s Pray Together
Thank You, God, for being MY strength.
When we feel weak, help us trust You and obey You. Give us strength today to be brave, to be kind, and to love everyone we meet. You are my strength!
We love You. Amen.
