Good morning, grandchildren!

I wish I were with you right now so I could give you a
great big hug and tell you how much I love you!

Today’s Scripture is:

“To you I call, O LORD my Rock; do not turn a deaf ear to me.”
—Psalm 28:1

Today we’re talking about: The Lord is My Rock: Jehovah Tsuri. Today we are going to learn another wonderful name of God: Jehovah Tsuri (jeh-HO-vuh tsu-REE). It means “The Lord is my Rock.”

A quick picture to help: Here’s the story of a man named Joseph from Genesis 37. Joseph was one of Jacob’s twelve sons. One day, Joseph had a dream from God, and when he told his brothers about it, they became angry. They were so jealous and upset that they sold Joseph to travelers who took him far away and made him their slave.

But even though Joseph went through many hard and unfair situations, God was always with him. God protected him, helped him, and provided for him every step of the way. God was a Rock to Joseph—strong, steady, and dependable.

The best part: Have you ever walked across a trampoline? It feels wobbly and unsteady. You might feel like you could fall at any moment!

But when the Bible says God is our Rock, it means He is nothing like that trampoline. God is firm, solid, and steady. He never wobbles. He is a strong foundation we can stand on, no matter what is happening around us.

When life feels unsure—like changes at school, problems with friends, or something that worries you—remember: God is your Rock. He will hold you steady and keep you strong.

Let’s Pray Together

Dear God,

When we need help, we will call out to You. Thank You for always being strong and steady in our lives. Thank You for giving us strength and turning hard things into good things. We love You! Amen.

We love You. Amen.

Today’s Question:

What is one situation in your life where you need God to be your Rock today?
