Good morning, grandchildren!
I wish I were with you right now so I could give you a
great big hug and tell you how much I love you!
Today’s Scripture is:
“The Lord of Heaven’s armies is the King of Glory.”
—Psalm 24:10 (NLT)
Today we’re talking about: Jehovah Sabaoth (The Lord of Angel Armies). Today we’re going to talk about one of the names of God: Jehovah Sabaoth. It means “The Lord of Angel Armies.”
A quick picture to help: Did you know God is the Commander of a giant army of angels? We can’t usually see them with our natural eyes—they’re invisible most of the time. But every once in a while, God lets people see them.
Remember the story I told you about the Highway Patrol officer who talked to me after that car wreck? I believe God used one of His angels to protect me from something that could have hurt me.
In the Bible (2 Kings 6), there is also a story where invisible angels suddenly became visible to the prophet Elisha and his servant. God used His angel army to protect His people, the Israelites.
The best part: God protects us too—sometimes in ways we notice, and many times in ways we never even realize.
Let’s Pray Together
Dear God,
Even though we can’t see You or Your angel armies, we know You are there watching over us, and we are glad.
We love You. Amen.
