Good morning, grandchildren!

I wish I were with you right now so I could give you a
great big hug and tell you how much I love you!

Today’s Scripture is:

“I am the Lord who heals you.”
—Exodus 15:26 (NLT)

Today we’re talking about: The God Who Heals — Jehovah Rophe (jeh-HO-vuh roe-FEH). In the Bible, there is a story in 2 Kings about a man named Naaman. Naaman had a bad skin disease and really wanted to be healed.

A quick picture to help: When the prophet Elisha heard about Naaman, he sent him a message through a servant. The message said, “Go to the Jordan River and wash in it seven times. Then you will be healed.”

At first, Naaman didn’t think that could be right. It sounded too simple! He even felt a little upset and wondered if it would really work. But then Naaman decided to obey God’s instructions. He thought, “It won’t hurt to try.”

So Naaman went down to the river. He stepped into the water and dipped himself under—one… two… three… four… five… six… seven times. When Naaman came up the last time and looked at his skin, it was completely healed. His skin looked brand new, like a baby’s skin. The disease was gone! Jehovah Rophe—the God who heals—had healed him.

The best part: God still heals today. When you get a cut or a scrape, you wash it, put medicine on it, and cover it with a bandage—and God helps your body heal. When we get sick, we may go to the doctor and take medicine, and God makes the medicine work so our bodies can get well. And sometimes when we pray and ask God to bring healing, He chooses to do it instantly.

God cares about our bodies, our hearts, and our lives. He is Jehovah Rophe, the God who heals.

Let’s Pray Together

Thank You, God, for being our healer.

Thank You for caring for our bodies and helping us get well. You are Jehovah Rophe, the God who heals.

We love You! Amen.

Today’s Question:

Is there something you or someone you love needs healing from today? How can you ask God, our healer, to help?
