Good morning, grandchildren!

I wish I were with you right now so I could give you a
great big hug and tell you how much I love you!

Today’s Scripture is:

“Our God is a God who saves us.”
—Psalm 68:20 (ICB)

Today we’re talking about: The God Who Saves — EL Moshaah. Today we’re learning another wonderful name for God: EL Moshaah (EL Mo-shah-Ah), which means “The God who saves.”

A quick picture to help: The Bible tells a big story about how God saved His people, the Hebrews, when they were slaves in Egypt. God told Moses exactly what to do, and the people followed Moses as he obeyed God.

Do you remember some of the miracles God did? The river turned to blood… frogs and bugs filled the land… and finally, God opened the Red Sea so His people could walk through on dry ground! All of these miracles showed that God is All-Powerful and that He keeps His promises.

The best part: God saves us, too! He saves us from danger and helps us when we have problems. But the biggest thing He saves us from is the punishment we deserve because of sin.

That’s why Jesus came! Jesus took the punishment for our sin when He died on the cross. Then God used His mighty power to raise Jesus back to life! Jesus lives in heaven with God the Father, and through the Holy Spirit, He lives in the hearts of everyone who asks Him to be their Lord and Savior. Our God truly is the God who saves!

Let’s Pray Together

Father God,

Thank You for saving us. Thank You for loving us and having a wonderful plan for our lives.

We love You! Amen.

Today’s Question:

Can you think of a time when God helped you or kept you safe?
