Germs
Adapted from the book
How Great is Our God
by Louie Giglio
Good morning!
Joke for the Day:
Why did the germ bring a backpack to school?
Because it wanted to carry its sickness!
Today’s Scripture is:
“I am the Lord who heals you.”
Exodus 15:26 (ICB)
Germs
Did you know your body has its own defense team? It’s called your immune system!
Things like tears, skin, and even mucus (yep… snot!) all help protect you from germs. Germs are tiny living things that you can’t see without a microscope. They try to sneak into your body through your eyes, nose, or even small cuts. But your body works hard to fight them off! And if you do get sick, your body keeps battling until you get better.
When Jesus lived on earth, people came to Him for healing all the time. One day, four friends wanted to bring a man who couldn’t walk to Jesus. But the house where Jesus was teaching was so full, they couldn’t get in!
So they did something amazing—they climbed up on the roof, made a hole, and lowered their friend down right in front of Jesus! Jesus did heal the man—but first, He did something even more important. He said, “Your sins are forgiven.”
Why was that so important? Because being sick in our bodies doesn’t last forever—but sin affects our hearts and souls. Sin is like a sickness inside us that only Jesus can heal.
That’s why Jesus came—to forgive our sins and make us right with God. So if you’ve done something wrong, don’t wait. Go to Jesus! Just like that man and his friends didn’t give up, you can come to Him anytime. He will always forgive you.
Let’s Pray Together
Father God, thank You for protecting our bodies and helping us heal when we get sick. But most of all, thank You for forgiving our sins and making our hearts clean. We love You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
