Good morning!

Joke for the Day:
Why did the Easter egg hide?
Because it was a little chicken!

Today’s Scripture is:
“For the joy that was before Him, Jesus accepted death on the cross.”

Good Friday

Have you ever wondered why the day Jesus died is called Good Friday?

That might sound confusing. Usually, when someone dies—especially in such a painful and terrible way—we wouldn’t call that a “good” day.

So why do we call it good? It’s because we know what happens next.

On that day, Jesus’ friends were very sad and confused. Even though Jesus had told them many times that He would die and come back to life, they didn’t fully understand.

And honestly, that happens to us too! Sometimes when we read the Bible, we don’t understand everything right away. But when we take time to think about God’s Word—this is called meditating—the Holy Spirit helps us understand more and more.

Isn’t it amazing that God helps us learn and grow every time we spend time with Him?

Good Friday is “good” because it was part of God’s perfect plan. Jesus died on the cross to take the punishment for our sins. And even though Friday felt sad, Sunday was coming!

Three days later, Jesus came back to life, showing that He is more powerful than sin and death. So when we remember Good Friday, we can trust that God is always working—even when things seem sad or confusing.

When you know that Resurrection Day is coming, Friday really is good.

Let’s Pray Together

Father, thank You that Your plans are always good, even when we don’t understand them. Help us trust You every day, no matter what we face. We love You! Amen.

Question for the day:

Can you think of a time when it was hard to trust God?
What helped you keep trusting Him?
