Follow the Leader

Adapted from the book How Great is Our God by Louie Giglio

Good morning!

Joke for the Day:
Why don’t monkeys get lost in the jungle?
Because they always follow the leader!

Today’s Scripture is:
“Accept my teachings and learn from me,
because I am gentle and humble in spirit,
and you will find rest for your lives.”

Matthew 11:29 (NCV)

Follow the Leader

Have you ever noticed how kids sometimes copy what others are doing? If one person starts clapping, pretty soon everyone is clapping. If someone starts laughing, others begin to laugh too.

Watching and copying is one of the easiest ways to learn.

Animals do this as well. Baby orangutans spend many years staying close to their mothers. They watch carefully as their mom finds food, chooses what is safe to eat, and builds a comfortable nest in the trees. Little by little, they practice those same skills.

Polar bear cubs learn by following their mom across the snowy ice. She shows them how to stay warm and where to find food.

Cheetah cubs watch their mother hunt, and when they’re ready, she lets them join in so they can practice for themselves.

People learn the same way.

That’s one reason Jesus came to earth. He didn’t just tell us how to live—He showed us.

When we read the Bible, we can see how Jesus treated others with kindness, patience, and love. Then we can try to live like He did. And if we mess up, that’s okay. Jesus is patient with us. He forgives us and helps us try again.

He is the best teacher we could ever have.

Let’s Pray Together

Jesus, thank You for showing me how to live. Help me learn from Your example and treat others the way You do. I want my life to look more like Yours every day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Question for the day:

What is one thing Jesus did that you could copy today?✨
