Dreams
Adapted from the book How Great is Our God by Louie Giglio
Good morning!
Joke for the Day:
Why did the sleeper bring a ladder to bed?
Because he wanted to climb into his dreams!
Today’s Scripture is:
“No one has ever seen this. No one has ever heard about it.
No one has ever imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”
1 Corinthians 2:9 (ICB)
Dreams
Every single person dreams. Even if someone says, “I don’t dream,” they actually do—they just
may not remember it in the morning.
But what are dreams for?
Some researchers believe dreams are like a cleanup crew for your brain. While you sleep, your mind sorts through everything that happened during the day—saving what’s important and clearing away what’s not. Others think dreams help you think through problems. And a few scientists believe dreams don’t really have a special job at all—they simply happen while you sleep.
Not all dreams happen at night. Have you ever stared out a window and imagined winning a championship, performing on stage, or traveling somewhere exciting? Those are daydreams—pictures in your mind of things you hope might happen someday.
But here’s an even bigger question:
Have you ever imagined what heaven will be like?
The Bible tells us it will be more wonderful than anything we have ever seen or even imagined. No more tears. No more pain. No more fear. Only joy, peace, and the bright presence of God. And the greatest joy of all? Being with Jesus.
Heaven isn’t just a pretend wish or a make-believe story. For those who love God, it’s a promise. One day, what we can barely imagine now will become more real and beautiful than any dream we’ve ever had.
Let’s Pray Together
Father God, thank You for preparing a place that is greater than anything we can picture in our minds. Thank You for the promise of heaven and for loving us so much. We are thankful that one day we will be with You. We love You. Amen.
