A Splash of Love

Adapted from the book How Great is Our God by Louie Giglio

Good morning!

Joke of the Day:
Why did the pink lake feel so confident?
Because it wasn’t afraid to show its true colors!😄

Today’s Scripture is:

“You must love each other as I have loved you…
All people will know that you are my followers if you love each other.”

Gospel of John 13:34–35 (ICB)

A Splash of Love

Imagine walking up to a lake expecting blue water—but instead you see bright pink stretching out in front of you! That really happens at Lake Retba in Senegal.

This lake is extra salty, and not many living things can survive in it. But a tiny type of algae called Dunaliella salina thrives there. When it absorbs sunlight, it produces a reddish color thatspreads through the water, turning the whole lake pink. Something so small makes such a big difference!

That’s a great picture of how God’s love works through us.

You might think small actions don’t matter much—but they do. A kind word. A shared Bible verse. A thank-you prayer in the morning. Helping someone who’s struggling. Each little act adds color to your day and shines Jesus’ love to others.

Jesus said the world would know we belong to Him by the way we love each other. Love is the bright color that shows people who we follow.

When you sprinkle little bits of God’s truth and kindness throughout your day, you’re painting the world with His goodness.

Let’s Pray Together

Father, thank You for loving us first. Help us show Your love in simple, everyday ways. Use our small acts of kindness to make a big difference for You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Question for the day:

What is one small act of love you can do today to show others you follow Jesus?
