Powered Up!

Adapted from the book How Great is Our God by Louie Giglio

Good morning!

Joke of the Day:
Why don’t astronauts ever get tired?
Because they’re always over the moon!😄

Today’s Scripture is:

“The Lord gives strength to those who are tired.
He gives more power to those who are weak.”

Book of Isaiah 40:29 (ICB)

Powered Up!

Have you ever thought about why you don’t drift up into the sky? You can leap as high as you want, but you always land back on the ground. That’s because of gravity—an unseen force that pulls things toward each other. Since the earth is so large, its gravity is strong enough to keep you steady on your feet.

So how does a rocket ever leave the ground if gravity is always pulling down?

Rockets carry special fuel. When that fuel ignites, it sends powerful bursts of hot gas shooting downward. That force pushes the rocket upward with incredible strength—strong enough to break free from earth’s pull and travel into space. Escaping gravity takes tremendous power!

Here’s something exciting: if you belong to Jesus, you have power too.

The Bible tells us in First Epistle to the Corinthians 3:16 that God’s Spirit lives inside His children. The Holy Spirit teaches us (Gospel of John 14:26), leads us (Epistle to the Romans 8:14), and even helps us pray when we don’t know what to say (Epistle to the Romans 8:26).

At times, temptation and wrong choices can feel like gravity tugging us downward. But the Holy Spirit gives us the strength to rise above sin. He helps us choose what is right and keeps us moving closer to God.

You are never trying to follow God alone. His Spirit is the power within you, lifting you up every single day.

Let’s Pray Together

Father God, thank You for giving us strength when we are tired and weak. Thank You for putting Your Holy Spirit inside us to guide and help us every day. Teach us to depend on His power. We love You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Question for the day:

What is one way you can depend on the Holy Spirit’s power when you feel weak this week?
