Eternal

Adapted from the book How Great is Our God by Louie Giglio

Good morning!

Joke of the Day:
Why don’t trees ever get lost?
Because they stick to their roots!😄

Today’s Scripture is:

“I am the Alpha and the Omega—
the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God.
“I am the One who is, who always was,
and who is still to come—the Almighty One.”

Book of Revelation 1:8 (NLT)

Have you ever seen a tree and wondered how old it might be?

In the mountains of California called the Sierra Nevada, there are enormous trees known as Giant Sequoia trees. Some of them began growing over 2,000 years ago.

That means they were alive when Jesus walked on earth! While Jesus was teaching crowds of people, those trees were growing. When He fed thousands with just a few loaves and fish, they were growing. When He calmed the wind and waves, they were growing—and they’re still growing today.

These trees can grow taller than 250 feet, and some stretch over 300 feet high—that’s about as tall as the Statue of Liberty! Their trunks are so wide that it would take many people holding hands to wrap all the way around one.

That sounds amazing, doesn’t it?

But even the oldest, tallest tree cannot compare to God.

Trees have a beginning. God does not.

Trees will not live forever. God will.

He has always existed—before the world began—and He will always exist, long after everything else changes.

God is eternal. That means He never started and will never end. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

And here’s something wonderful: the forever God cares about you. He is with you at school, at home, and everywhere you go. You are never alone.

Let’s Pray Together

Father God, it’s hard to imagine someone who has always been alive. Thank You for being the everlasting God. Thank You for staying with me every single day. I love You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Question for the day:

How does it make you feel to know that God will always be with you—no matter what?
