Good morning, grandchildren!
I wish I were with you right now so I could give you a
great big hug and tell you how much I love you!
Today’s Scripture is:
“They shall call his name Immanuel”
Matthew 1:23
Today we’re going to change things up a bit. We’ve been learning the names of God in the Old Testament, but now we’re moving to the New Testament—when Jesus comes on the scene!
The name we’re talking about today is Emmanuel. I know you’ve heard that one before.
Emmanuel means “God with us.”
Long before God made the world, He had a wonderful plan. At just the right time, He would send someone to help all the people of the world. God promised this, and He always keeps His promises.
So God chose to send His only Son, Jesus, to come to earth and teach us how to live. God came to be with us! Isn’t that amazing? The God who made the whole universe wants to be close to you because He loves you so much.
After Jesus finished His work on earth, He went back to heaven. But He didn’t leave us alone.
He sent the Holy Spirit to live inside everyone who trusts and believes in Jesus. The Holy Spirit comforts us, guides us, and is our closest friend.
Today, remember this: You are never alone. Not at school, not at home, not anywhere. God is with you through Jesus and the Holy Spirit. If you ever feel worried or unsure, you can pause and whisper, “Emmanuel—God is with me,” and He will help your heart feel strong and peaceful.
Let’s Pray Together
Dear God,
Thank You for Your perfect plan. Thank You for sending Jesus and the Holy Spirit to be with us and guide us. Help us hear and recognize Your voice today. We love You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
