Meerkats

Today’s Scripture is:
“Each one of us has a body,
and that body has many parts.
These parts all have different uses.
In the same way, we are many,
but in Christ we are one body.
Each one of us is a part of that body.”
Romans 12:4–5
Meerkats are small animals with a big secret—they are strongest when they work together. These tiny, squirrel-like creatures live in groups with fun names like mobs or gangs. They share almost everything. They dig their homes underground as a team, clean each other’s fur, search for food together, and even take turns watching the babies and keeping lookout for danger.
When a predator appears, meerkats do something incredible. If they can’t escape into their tunnel fast enough, they line up close together and make loud hissing and growling sounds. Standing side by side makes them look and sound much bigger than they really are, and many predators decide it’s better to stay away.
God designed meerkats to live this way—and He designed people the same way. We were never meant to do life alone. God gives each of us different gifts and different responsibilities, but all of them are important. Whether someone is teaching, cleaning, singing, cooking, or helping quietly behind the scenes, every role matters to God.
Whatever God asks you to do, do it with joy and your very best effort. Notice and appreciate what others are doing too. Pray for each other, lend a helping hand, and speak encouraging words. When hard times come—whether fear, sadness, or temptation—we are much stronger when we stand together.

Dear God, thank You for making each of us unique. Help me discover how I can serve You and others. Remind me that everyone has an important place in Your family. We love You. Amen.
