A few years ago, something very strange happened in a town in Greece called Aitoliko. After days of hot, damp weather, spiders began spinning webs everywhere. Before long, a thick, white blanket of spiderwebs stretched over parts of the town—longer than three football fields!
Even though the webs were huge, the spiders that made them were tiny—most of them smaller than your fingernail. Because there were so many bugs to eat, the spiders worked together and covered trees, signs, and grass with sticky silk. It looked creepy, but the spiders weren’t harmful.
Once the weather cooled and the bugs disappeared, the webs slowly vanished too.
That kind of blanket may give you the shivers—but there’s another blanket that brings comfort instead: God’s love.
You can’t see God’s love with your eyes, but it surrounds you every day. And unlike spiderwebs that come and go, God’s love never disappears. You don’t have to be perfect for God to love you. You don’t have to earn it. And you can’t lose it. God loved you first, and He always will.
