Glaciers

Joke of the Day:
Why don’t glaciers ever get into arguments?
Because they just let things slide! 😄
Today’s Scripture is:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory.”

Just outside Juneau, Alaska, there are miles and miles of giant glaciers. One of the most well-known is Mendenhall Glacier, and it stretches more than 12 miles long!
At first glance, it looks like nothing more than a huge, frozen slab of ice. But hidden deep inside is something incredible.
To reach it, you may need to paddle a kayak across Mendenhall Lake, or during the winter, carefully walk across the frozen surface. After that, you climb down into the glacier itself—so be careful, because the ice can be slippery!
Inside there are the amazing Mendenhall Ice Caves. These caves were formed by water melting through the glacier. As the ice melts, freezes, and melts again, the caves are always changing.
Unlike the bright white ice on the outside, the caves shine with a deep, glowing blue. Being inside feels less like a cave and more like standing inside a frozen, underwater world.
Who would ever expect to find such beauty hidden inside a massive block of ice?
That’s a lot like God’s beauty. It is powerful and wonderful—and sometimes it’s hidden in places we don’t expect. God has placed His beauty inside every person.
Yes—even the person who is hard to get along with.
Even the one who gets on your nerves.
Sometimes finding that beauty takes effort. You might have to cross a sea of bad attitudes or climb over a mountain of grumpiness. But when you choose kindness and let God lead you, you’ll begin to see His beauty in every heart. Even that one.

Dear God, thank You for the beautiful world You created. Help us look for Your beauty in other people, even when it’s hard to see. We love You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
