Changing
Adapted from the book
How Great is Our God
by Louie Giglio
Good morning!
Today’s Scripture is:
“God is working in you to help you want to do what pleases Him.
Then He gives you the power to do it.”
Philippians 2:13 (ICB)
Changing
Let’s start with a science fact.
Far, far away—about 37 light-years from Earth—is a star called Arcturus. Arcturus is a red giant star, and scientists believe it is about 25 times bigger than our sun. That is HUGE! Our sun alone is so big that more than one million Earths could fit inside it.
Here’s the amazing part: even something as enormous as Arcturus is changing. God designed it so its outer layers are slowly burning away, and over time the star is becoming smaller.
Now think about this—if God can change a star that is bigger than our sun, imagine what He can do in you.
God is working inside your heart every day. The changes He makes in you are even more incredible than the changes happening in the stars. The Bible tells us God is like a potter, and we are like clay. You are not just any clay—you are precious and carefully loved. Little by little, God shapes you.
He uses His Word, the people in your life, and the things you experience to help you learn how to please Him. That might look like choosing to do the right thing when it’s hard, being brave when you feel scared, or staying calm and trusting God when things around you feel messy or confusing.
God is shaping you to become more like Jesus—and that is the greatest change of all.
Let’s Pray Together
Father God, change isn’t always easy, and sometimes it feels uncomfortable. But we trust You. Please keep shaping us and changing us to be more like Jesus. We love You. Amen.
