Joyful Noise

Adapted from the book
How Great is Our God
by Louie Giglio

Good morning!

Today’s Scripture is:

“Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.”

Psalm 95:1 (NIV)

Joyful Noise

Today, we’re exploring the science of birds, especially songbirds.

Unlike many animals, birds don’t inherently know how to sing. They must learn by listening to their parents and practicing over time. While their songs aren’t full conversations, they do convey important messages, like warnings or signals about food.

It’s fascinating to note that in North America and Europe, it’s usually the male bird that sings, while in Australia or the tropics, it’s often the female.

The mockingbird is particularly remarkable for its ability to imitate a wide range of sounds, from other birds to a cat’s meow or even a car alarm. And sometimes, they sing just for the joy of it.

When we look around, we see that God made everything—the shining stars, the tall trees, and all the animals we love. Each part of the world is like a piece of a big puzzle that God put together with care and love. This reminds us that we are part of something amazing and that God loves every part of His creation, including you!

We have so much to be grateful for. All of this can inspire us to sing praises to God.

So, let’s sing to Him now! Remember, it’s not about perfection—it’s about the love and joy in your heart.

Let’s Pray Together

Father God, We come before You with songs of praise and worship. We are so thankful for Your love and care. We love You. Amen.

Today’s Question:

What is your favorite song to sing to God?
