Good morning!
Today’s Scripture is:

Foundations
Today let’s talk about something called a sinkhole. Have you ever heard of one? A sinkhole is what happens when the ground suddenly caves in. Where there used to be solid ground, there is now a big, gaping hole!
Sometimes sinkholes are small—just a few feet wide. But other times they can be huge, even up to 2,000 feet wide! Whether a sinkhole might happen depends on what the ground is made of—dirt, rocks, minerals, and all the things under the surface. Another factor is underground water. Over time, water can wash away rocks and minerals, eroding the bedrock underneath.
When that support is gone, the ground above can fall in.
Because of that, builders must be very careful about where they build houses. If land is prone to sinkholes, they need to make sure they’re building on a strong, solid foundation so the house doesn’t fall into a hole.
And just like builders, we must be careful about what we build our lives on—what our foundation is.
Do we depend on money? Money can be stolen or lost.
Do we depend on how smart we are? Sooner or later, we’ll face a question we can’t answer.
Do we depend on friends? Friends are wonderful, but sometimes they move away.
Money, intelligence, and friends can all be good gifts—but they’re also things that can shift and change. If we build our life only on those things, we might end up feeling like we’re standing in a hole.
God’s Word tells us to build our life on Him. When we depend on God, we are standing on something that never moves. God never shifts or changes, and He will never leave us in a hole.

Father God, thank You that You never shift or change like things in this world. We know we can count on You. We love You. Amen.
