Patience

Good morning, grandchildren!

I wish I were with you right now so I could give you a
great big hug and tell you how much I love you!

“But the Spirit gives love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”

— Galatians 5:22–23a (ICB)

What Is Patience?

Patience means waiting with a good attitude — even when things don’t happen as quickly as we want.

It’s being calm instead of complaining.

It’s trusting that God’s timing is always right, even though we have to wait.

When we wait for our turn, for our birthday, or for something exciting to happen, God is teaching us patience.

Patience is the ability to accept or tolerate delays or troubles or suffering without getting angry or upset.

Do you ever get upset when you don’t get your way? I know I do!!

But God wants us to learn to be okay when we don’t always get what I want when I want it. In the Bible God says that all things are possible with Him.

So today, if you begin to be impatient, send God a silent prayer asking for him to help you be patient.

Let’s Pray Together

Jesus,

Help us be patient and trust that Your timing is always best. We love you.

Amen

Today’s Question:

When is it hardest for you to be patient? What helps you stay calm when you have to wait?

(examples: waiting in line, waiting for a snack, waiting for your turn)
