Good morning, grandchildren!
Today’s Scripture
"The free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 6:23
Our last story was about Jesus’ death on the cross and His coming back to life three days later. Today, we’re going to talk about what happened after He rose from the dead.
At first, Jesus’ followers were confused and afraid. They didn’t understand that Jesus had come back to life. Their leader, God’s Son, had just been killed, and it didn’t make sense to them. They had seen Jesus do many miracles, even bring Lazarus back from the dead, so they wondered, “How could this happen?”
Being afraid of the people who had killed Jesus, the disciples hid together in an upstairs room. They didn’t know what to do.
Then something amazing happened—Jesus appeared to them! He talked to them, and they were shocked and very happy. To show He was really alive and not a ghost, Jesus even ate food in front of them. He also showed them His hands and the holes where He had been nailed to the cross.
The disciples realized the truth—Jesus is alive and He is God’s Son. They called Him Lord!
Let’s pray:
Thank You, Jesus, for being our Lord and Savior. Thank You for dying for our sins and coming back to life. Help us to trust You and follow You every day. We love You! Amen.
