God’s Good Provision
Adapted from the book
How Great is Our God
by Louie Giglio
Good morning!
Today’s Scripture is:
God looked over all He had made and
He saw that it was very good.
Genesis 1:31 NLT
Have you ever heard someone say, “Stop and Smell the Roses?” It’s another way of saying to slow down and notice everything around you.
Have you ever noticed how roses smell? Have you ever wondered why they smell so good?
ROSE OXIDE is a chemical that produces the smell. Actually, four different chemicals go into making a rose smell like a rose.
The smell mixes orange, mint, sweet, and fruit scents to create just the perfect rose smell. And that smell tells the insects to find them and get the pollen from them to share with other plants. That is the way God designed the plant world.
But God also designed each flower and its scent for us to enjoy. Hence the saying,
“Stop and smell the roses.
It’s good for us to stop what we are doing from time to time and look around to enjoy this beautiful world God created for us.
Today, let’s choose to stop and focus our attention on all the good things that God has placed in our lives. From a good school and good friends to our good family and our good bodies. God has provided so many good things for us!
Let’s Pray Together
Father God, We thank you for Your beautiful plan for our lives and our family. Help us to slow down and notices how Your plan for us is so good and not take it for granted. We love You! Amen.
