Kindness

Good morning!

Today’s Scripture is:

“Plant what is right.
Then you will harvest good things.”
Hosea 10:12

Let’s talk about plants! Since plants don’t walk around or travel like animals, God gave them super creative ways to spread their seeds.

You may have heard that some seeds get spread when:

  • Birds eat them and later drop them somewhere else.

  • Seeds stick to animal fur and fall off in a new place.

But some plants are even more inventive!

Amazing Seed Science

Here are a few cool ways seeds travel:

Coconuts - A coconut is actually a giant seed that floats! It rides ocean waves and can wash up on faraway beaches. That’s how coconut trees grew on islands all over the world.

Dandelions and Maple “Whirly Birds” - These seeds grow little wings and fly away in the wind to find new places to grow.

Squirting Cucumber - This plant fills up with liquid until it builds so much pressure that it explodes—shooting seeds 10 to 20 feet away!

Sandbox Tree (a.k.a. the Dynamite Tree) - This one is the wildest. Its pods explode like a tiny bomb, firing seeds as fast as 150 miles an hour—with a sound like a gunshot!

God was so creative when He made plants and their seeds.

The Seed God Wants You to Spread

But there’s one special kind of seed God wants you to plant everywhere:

The seed of kindness.

Kindness is more than smiling and being polite.

Sometimes, kindness takes:

  • Courage — like being kind to a kid others pick on.

  • Strength — like being kind when you’re tired or cranky.

  • Love — like being kind even when others aren’t kind to you.

When you plant a seed of kindness, it grows and spreads.

Your kindness encourages someone else to be kind…

who encourages another person…

and another…

and another.

Kindness keeps growing, just like a garden!

So today, spread a few seeds of kindness wherever you go.

Let’s Pray Together

Father God, please plant seeds of kindness in our hearts. Help them grow so big that we just have to share kindness with everyone we meet. We love You. Amen.

Today’s Question:

Who is someone you can pray for this week, and why?

(You might choose a friend who is sad, someone who is sick,
a kid who feels left out, or a family member who needs God’s help.)
