Good morning, grandchildren!
I wish I were with you right now so I could give you a
great big hug and tell you how much I love you!
Today’s Scripture is:
John 8:12:
"I am the light of the world."
Lighthouses show us the way and protect people from danger. Jesus is like a lighthouse for our lives—He is the Light of the World.
The story today comes from the book of Acts. It’s about a man named Saul. Saul loved God and tried to obey Him, but he didn’t understand who Jesus was. He even hurt Jesus’ followers because he thought he was doing the right thing.
One day, as Saul was traveling on a road, Jesus appeared to him in a blinding light. Saul fell to the ground and heard Jesus say:
"Saul, Saul, why are you hurting me?"
Saul asked, “Who are you?”
Jesus said, “I am Jesus, and when you hurt my people, you hurt me.”
Saul realized that Jesus was God’s Son. His heart changed! He stopped hurting Jesus’ followers and became one of their greatest leaders.
Because Saul was blinded by the light, Jesus sent a man named Ananias to pray for him. Saul could see again, and his name was changed to Paul. Paul spent the rest of his life telling everyone about Jesus and helped write much of the New Testament in our Bibles.
Jesus is the Light of the World. He can shine into our hearts and change us, just like He changed Saul into Paul.
Let’s Pray Together
Dear God, thank You for being the Light of the World. Thank You for changing Saul’s heart and for being able to change mine too. Help me shine for You, Jesus, every day. We love You! Amen.
