Good morning, grandchildren!

I wish I were with you right now so I could give you a
great big hug and tell you how much I love you!

Today’s Scripture is:

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of mercy and the God of all comfort.”

—2 Corinthians 1:3

Today we’re talking about: The God of All Comfort — El Nehkumah (EL neh-ku-MAH). Comfort is something that brings relief, support, and help when we are hurting or tired. It helps us feel safe and cared for.

A quick picture to help: What are some things that bring you comfort?

  • A blanket, blankie, lovey, or a favorite stuffed animal

  • A hug

  • Holding hands

  • Special foods

  • A back rub or foot rub

These things help us feel better—but the greatest comfort of all comes from God. Because God loves His children so much and cares about every feeling we have, one of His names is the God of All Comfort.

The best part: Sometimes when we are sad, scared, or hurting, God comforts us by reminding us that He is with us. Other times, God sends people to comfort us. A kind friend might pray with us, a parent might listen, or someone might say just the right words to help us feel better.

God doesn’t just want us to receive comfort—He wants us to share it too. When we notice someone feeling lonely or sad, we can give a hug, say a prayer, or speak kind words. When we comfort others, we are showing them God’s love.

Let’s Pray Together

Father,

Thank You for being the God of all comfort. Thank You for caring about our hearts. Help us notice when others need comfort and help us be kind and loving friends.

We love You. Amen.

Today’s Question:

Who is someone you could comfort today, and what is one loving thing you could do to help them feel cared for?
