Why don’t bats use flashlights?
Because God already gave them a better way to see!😄
Today’s Scripture is:

You made the skies and the earth

Many people think bats can’t see, but that’s actually a myth. Some bats can see just fine! Even with good eyesight, though, catching tiny flying insects in the middle of the night would be extremely hard.
So God gave bats a special gift to help them find their way in the dark. As they fly, bats send out very high sounds that people can’t hear. Those sounds bounce off objects like trees, walls, and insects, then return back to the bat. By listening carefully, the bat learns what is around it.
With these echoes, bats can tell how big something is, how far away it is, and which direction it’s moving—even when there’s no light at all. This special ability is called echolocation, and it allows bats to find food when it seems like it couldn’t possibly be done.
(And don’t worry—God probably won’t ask you to chase your dinner in the dark. And if He does, let’s hope it’s not mosquitoes!)
Bats teach us an important lesson about God. He loves turning hard situations into possible ones.
Sometimes God may ask you to do something that feels scary or way too big—like speaking in front of others, telling someone about Jesus, or forgiving someone who was unkind to you.
When that happens, don’t stare at how difficult it feels. Look instead at how powerful God is.
The same God who helps bats find tiny insects in the dark promises to help you do whatever He asks—even when it seems impossible.
Let’s Pray Together
Father God, we know that some of the things You call us to do feel really hard. Thank You for reminding us that nothing is too hard for You. Help us trust You and rely on Your strength. We love You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
