Instincts and God’s Creation
Adapted from the book How Great is Our God by Louie Giglio
Good morning!
Joke of the Day: Why did the bee get good grades in school?
Because it was always bee-having! 🐝😄
Today’s Scripture is:
“Ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky.
Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities his eternal power and divine nature so they have no excuse for not knowing God.
Romans 1:20 (NLT)
Animals come into the world already knowing how to do certain things. These special abilities are called instincts. You can think of instincts as God-given directions that help animals live and stay safe.
When baby sea turtles hatch, they don’t need lessons—they automatically crawl toward the ocean and know how to swim once they reach the water. Bees naturally know how to care for their hive and make honey. Butterflies lay their eggs on the exact plants their caterpillars will need. Spiders spin strong webs, and birds know how to build nests—all because God designed them with instincts.
Some people believe these abilities just appeared over time. But the truth is, God created the animals of the sea, the sky, and the land with everything they need to survive. Their instincts are one way God points us back to Him. When you look closely at even one animal, it’s hard to believe it happened by accident.
God wants every person to understand that He is real, that His love is deeper than we can imagine, and that He sent His Son, Jesus, to open the way for us to live with Him forever. One way God helps us see His love is by showing how carefully He watches over His creation.
Those turtles know where the water is. Bees know how to make honey. Birds know how to build safe homes. And just like God takes care of them, you can trust that He will always love you and take care of you too.
Let’s Pray Together
Jesus, when we see the animals You created—the spiders weaving webs, the birds building nests, and the turtles swimming in the sea—we are reminded that You are real. Thank You for showing us Your greatness all around us. Amen.
