Good morning, grandchildren!
I wish I were with you right now so I could give you a
great big hug and tell you how much I love you!
Today’s Scripture is:
Then Jesus said,
“I am the bread that gives life.
He who comes to me will never be hungry.
He who believes in me will never be thirsty.
John 6:35 ICB
This message was so important that it is recorded in all four Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John!
One day, Jesus spent all day teaching the people. By the evening, everyone was hungry. There were about 500 men, plus women and children. Jesus’ disciples asked Him how they could feed so many people.
Jesus told them to find some food—even a little would do. A small boy had five loaves of bread and two fish, and he gave it to the disciples. They brought it to Jesus.
Jesus prayed and asked God to multiply the food. And that is exactly what happened! There was enough food for everyone, and even leftovers! This was a miracle.
Jesus performed this miracle to show that He is God’s Son and the Bread of Life.
When we believe Jesus is God’s Son, ask Him to forgive our sins, and follow Him as our Lord, He gives us spiritual life that will never run out. Just like bread gives our bodies energy to grow, Jesus gives our hearts and souls the spiritual food we need to grow close to Him.
Let’s Pray Together
Jesus, thank You for being our Bread of Life. Help us to be filled with Your words, just like our bodies are filled with bread. Teach us to follow You and grow in You every day. We love You! Amen.
