Sky
Good morning!
Today’s Scripture is:
“In the beginning God created the sky.”
Genesis 1:1 (ICB)
Today, let’s talk about God and the science He created.
Have you ever asked yourself why the sky is blue? Why isn’t it green or red?
The fact is that sunlight is made up of all the colors of the rainbow. Some light waves are longer, and some are shorter. Light hits things in the atmosphere until it bumps into something, like bits of dust or water vapor.
Because red, orange, and yellow have longer waves, they pass through the atmosphere without bumping into much. But blue and violet waves are shorter. They bump into everything and scatter across the sky. That’s why we see a blue sky.
In the morning and evening, when the sun is low in the sky, sunlight has to pass through more of the atmosphere, and we see red, orange, pink, and purple in the sky.
Isn’t it amazing how God made the sky?
With science and technology, we can figure out answers to some pretty tough questions. But we can never figure out everything. And that’s okay, because we can trust that God has everything perfectly figured out, and we can trust Him!
Let’s Pray Together
Father, Thank You that You are the all-knowing God who created everything for us. Today, help us see Your creation and recognize what a good, good God and Father You are. We love You! Amen.
