Responsible

Good morning, grandchildren!

I wish I were with you right now so I could give you a
great big hug and tell you how much I love you!

“A believer should take care of his own relatives,
especially his own family.”
— 1 Timothy 5:8
International Children’s Bible

Today we’re learning about a very important word — one that God talks about in the Bible and that your parents teach you every day.

That word is Responsibility. It means: Having a duty to take care of something or someone.

Here’s an example: A good leader takes responsibility for their team and helps them do their best. The Bible tells us that people who love Jesus should take care of their families. That means being responsible — helping others, doing our part, and showing love through our actions.

If someone doesn’t take care of their family, the Bible says they aren’t acting like a follower of Jesus. Wow — those are strong words! That’s how important responsibility is to God.

Think about how responsible your parents are — they work hard to care for you, provide food and clothes, and make sure you’re safe and loved. You see Christian responsibility in action every day!

But what about you? Here are a few ways you can be responsible:

Taking care of your pet, cleaning up after yourself, doing your homework, speaking kindly and respectfully, and helping your family without being asked.

Every time you do these things, you’re showing that you can be trusted with what God has given you!

Let’s Pray Together

Father God,

Thank You for being such a good and responsible Father.

Help us to take care of the things and people You have trusted us with.

Show us ways to be helpful and kind every day. We want to make You

proud because we love You. Amen.

Today’s Question:

What will I do today to
be responsible to my family?
