The Gospel
Good morning, grandchildren!
I wish I were with you right now so I could give you a
great big hug and tell you how much I love you!
“O God, from my youth you have taught me.”
— Psalm 71:17
Did you know that children can hear God’s voice sometimes even better than adults can?
In the Bible, we learn about King David. God called David “a man after His own heart.” That means David and God were very good friends. David trusted God and listened to Him all his life.
David wrote in Psalm 71:5 — “For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust from my youth.”
And again, in Psalm 71:17 — “O God, from my youth you have taught me.”
These verses show us that God speaks to children, (youth) teaches them, and helps them grow close to Him.
❤️ God’s Plan to Save Us
One of the first things God shows us is that we need a Savior—someone to save us from our sins.
The Bible tells us that everyone sins, and that sin separates us from God, who is holy and perfect.
But God had a wonderful plan!
He came to earth as Jesus, God’s Son. Jesus took the punishment for our sins when He died on the cross. Then He rose from the dead three days later proving His victory over sin and death.
Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, our friendship with God can be fixed. We can talk to Him, listen to Him, and know Him as our forever friend.
Let’s Pray Together
Jesus,
Thank You for coming to earth to take the punishment for our sin.
Please speak to our hearts today and draw us closer to You.
We love You! Amen.
